About Us


	WHO WE ARE Peace Arts Exchange (PAX) is a Sacramento, CA based group of artists and art supporters from many disciplines, including music, dance, theatre, poetry and visual arts.
Our Mission We use artistic expression to challenge assumptions about the utility of violence, and to provoke questions about the sources of oppression in the world. We oppose militarism at home and abroad. We support the enforcement of human rights as set forth in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. Our work is aimed at opening minds and hearts to the idea that a better world is possible! (okay, this is a draft and we're still working on it, but you get the gist)
	WHAT WE DO We hold monthly membership meetings where we discuss ongoing and upcoming projects. We have formed Ad hoc committees form to carry out our projects. Some of the Committee projects are profiled on our home page. Other projects are listed in our weekly calendar of events that goes out to our members. Steering Committee Composed of five PAX members, we work to create a flexible, responsive organizational structure that supports the work of our membership.
